About the position

The Automation Technician will be responsible for engineering, testing, maintaining, and supporting automation solutions within a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on programming logic-controlled equipment, providing technical support during production breakdowns, and ensuring the reliability of equipment through troubleshooting and preventive measures. The position requires a strong understanding of automation technologies and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Program logic-controlled equipment to achieve production, quality, and safety expectations.
  • Provide technical automation support during production breakdowns and new equipment installations.
  • Assist in equipment malfunction investigation to increase reliability by identifying root causes and corrective actions.
  • Perform setup and calibration for process and control instrumentation such as flow meters and temperature transducers.
  • Determine and program parameters for variable frequency drivers and servo drives.
  • Install and commission new instrumentation for additional data collection as requested.
  • Maintain and continuously develop existing plant control systems.
  • Perform routine diagnostic checks on equipment, electrical panels, and control systems.
  • Research new industrial automation equipment and materials for manufacturing use.
  • Follow all safety regulations, including Arc Flash protection and use of Personal Protective Equipment.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in automation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical degree and/or relevant experience.
  • Thorough understanding of PLCs and HMIs, including advanced programming techniques.
  • Knowledge of VFD & Servo Motor Control.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Networking (EthernetIP, ModbusRTU, ModbusTCP, CanOpen, Powerlink).
  • Knowledge of Industrial Instrumentation (Level, Pressure, Flow, Temperature, Proximity Sensors).
  • Proficiency using MS Office and other tools.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work in a team environment and unsupervised.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
