About the position
The Automation Technician at US Farathane Corporation is responsible for building, maintaining, and troubleshooting robotic and automation systems. This role requires a strong understanding of microprocessors, programmable controllers, electronics, and various mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance of automated equipment during production.
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and troubleshoot robotic and automation systems.
- Get secondary automated equipment running during production.
- Troubleshoot non-functioning components including servos, sensors, and pneumatic/control components.
- Replace parts as necessary.
- Report on the status of automation equipment.
- Support quality and continuous improvement projects.
- Perform electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic modifications on fixtures.
- Work collaboratively in a team environment, respecting individuality and encouraging suggestions.
- Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, collaborating with manufacturers or field representatives as needed.
- Fabricate housings, jigs, fittings, or fixtures using metalworking machines.
- Perform preventive or corrective maintenance on robotic systems or components.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Electrical/Pneumatic background required.
- Knowledge of PLC and controls preferred.
