About the position

CGI is looking for an Automation Test Engineer to help our client modernize their existing automation infrastructure and to build new automation tooling using their Citizen Developer toolset. The ideal candidate will have experience with one or more automation tools and will assist our client in automating the testing of their solutions. This role requires the ability to learn new technologies rapidly to leverage them effectively for the client. The position is based in our Lafayette, LA office, with a hybrid working model that requires in-office presence two days per week. In this role, you will work closely with Business Analysts and subject matter experts to understand requirements and translate them into software solutions. You will create and update automated test scripts based on developed Agile stories and collaborate with Business Analysts and Developers to fully grasp the scope and impact of each story on the test scenarios. Additionally, you will design and execute performance tests that yield meaningful results for developers, helping to identify areas for enhancement. You will also participate in design meetings with other projects and the client's technical specialists, coordinate integration testing across multiple teams, and engage in daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint demos, and other Agile ceremonies.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Business Analysts and subject matter experts to understand requirements and translate to software solutions

  • Create ad-hoc tests to work through new scenarios
  • Design and execute performance tests that provide meaningful results to developers on areas of enhancement
  • Work with teams to effectively design, build, and deliver cloud-based solutions
  • Participate in design meetings with other projects and the client's technical specialists
  • Coordinate integration testing across multiple teams
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint demos, and other agile ceremonies

Requirements

  • Due to the nature of the government contracts, this position requires US Citizenship
  • 3+ years of development experience in the Information Technology field focusing on automation framework development
  • Expert skills in test automation tools including TestCafe
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Selenium, Serenity or Cucumber
  • Experience in manual test script development and execution
  • Experience with ServiceNow or Salesforce
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Apps or Power BI
  • Experience with UI Path
