About the position

The Automation Test Engineer / 508 Accessibility Tester position is a critical role focused on ensuring the quality and accessibility of software applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering automated software quality assurance testing, which includes test planning, execution, and management. This role requires a strong understanding of accessibility standards, particularly WCAG 2.1 and Section 508, and the ability to utilize various accessibility testing tools such as JAWS, NVDA, Axe, WAVE, Accessibility Insights, and ANDI. The position demands collaboration with business areas to identify application development solutions and enhance existing applications, ensuring that all solutions meet defined business requirements. The Automation Test Engineer will work within an Enterprise Agile and DevOps team environment, contributing to the implementation of tools and technologies that align with project objectives. The role involves creating reusable test components, both application-dependent and independent, and advising less experienced QA Automation Engineers in the creation of test scripts. The candidate will also engage in technical discussions during the refinement of user stories to ensure that automated test plans are viable for creation and implementation. In addition to technical responsibilities, the Automation Test Engineer will build and maintain strong partnerships with product owners, developers, Scrum Masters, and Project Managers, as well as with national IT testing teams. The position requires a proactive approach to quality assurance, ensuring that testing is focused on delivering quality software while meeting agreed-upon completion dates and milestones. The candidate will also assist in research and evaluation of solutions, identify ways to reuse existing code, and design prototypes using current or emerging technologies. This role may also involve performing QE lead responsibilities, including attending refinements, estimations, and conducting code reviews as needed.
