As an Automation Test Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our automation testing initiatives. Your responsibilities will include applying your business acumen and technical expertise to implement test automation suites that validate software application functionality. You will engage in hands-on design, coding, enhancement, and testing of software applications to meet business process requirements. Your in-depth understanding of testing theories and concepts will be crucial as you contribute to the automation and quality engineering efforts of our projects. Your work will involve analyzing and identifying opportunities for test automation, developing automation components using appropriate tools and programming languages, and executing test automation scripts while logging issues and supporting their resolution. You will also be responsible for visualizing, designing, developing, and maintaining automation frameworks, integrating test automation with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes, and supporting test automation solution planning and estimation. This role is essential in driving positive, lasting change that advances missions and government objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and identify suitable opportunities for test automation.
  • Develop automation components/modules using appropriate tools and programming languages.
  • Carry out test automation script/cases, identify/log issues, and provide support during issue resolution process.
  • Visualize, design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks and their implementation.
  • Support test automation solution planning and estimation.
  • Integrate test automation with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery.

Requirements

  • Work experience with automated testing tools for web-based applications (Worksoft Certify, HP UFT/BPT, Tricentis Tosca, or Selenium framework).
  • Experience in designing/developing a Selenium test automation framework (BDD, keyword-driven).
  • Hands-on experience with Quality Assurance/Testing (application, product, system, and regression testing).
  • Experience with test management tools (JIRA, HP Quality Center, MS Team Foundation Server).
  • Experience with a programming language (Java, Ruby, C#, Python, JavaScript).
  • Experience with the software development life cycle.
  • Experience with API testing tools (Postman, REST-Assured, SOAP).
  • Experience with SQL Tools (Oracle, Postgres, NoSQL, SQL Server).

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Technical Science.
  • Previous consulting experience and understanding customer/business needs.
  • Experience with Accessibility testing (Section 508, WAVE, JAWS).
  • Experience conducting Cloud testing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience with Performance tools (LoadRunner, NeoLoad, jmeter).
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) (Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket, Maven).
  • Experience conducting automation tools analysis, selection, and recommendation.
  • Experience supporting test automation assessments for multiple projects.
  • Experience mobilizing and managing test automation projects (tools, resources, & processes).
  • Experience developing automation frameworks that are leveraged across multiple resources.
  • Experience with Agile Methodology (Scrum, SAFe).
  • Experience with managing projects or teams (Coaching resources, Leading testing projects, Managing Testing teams).
