About the position

The Automation Tester position at ManpowerGroup involves overseeing the Continuous Integration (CI) system for AirPods, focusing on monitoring, triaging, and managing automation tests. The role requires a highly organized individual with extensive experience in automation testing for embedded systems, particularly in Python programming. The position is critical for ensuring the health and efficiency of the CI system, as well as providing support for development teams through ad hoc testing and issue tracking.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily test results of all CI pipelines
• Report all issues (known or new)
• Gather failure rates and analyze trends
• Perform first level triage of failures
• Identify and request improvements to reporting tools
• Maintain CI team's staging and production test machine pool
• Monitor day-to-day health of test machines
• Run upgrades and reboot machines as needed
• Setup new machines and update lab layout
• Recover bad devices and hold machines with problems
• Reproduce CI and automation test related issues
• Provide additional logs for development team
• Escalate important issues as necessary
• Execute side testing requests from development team
• Provide results and first level triage analysis for ad-hoc tests

Requirements

• Minimum 10+ years of automation test software development for embedded systems
• Expert in Python programming
• B.S. degree (or equivalent) in an engineering field, preferably software engineering or embedded systems engineering
• Meticulous and highly organized with excellent multitasking capabilities
• Self-motivated and responsible with a sense of pride in maintaining the automation test system
• Quick learner with good intuitions on debugging and troubleshooting

Nice-to-haves

• Good understanding of classic bluetooth audio systems
• Comfortable with command line interface on Mac or Linux
