About the position

CMCI is seeking an Automation Tester to support a complex program for the Passenger Systems Program Directorate (PSPD) within Customs and Border Protection (CBP). This role involves collaborating to architect, design, build, deliver, and enhance highly available, scalable, real-time systems. The Automation Tester will participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including test planning and execution, ensuring high-quality solutions that meet customer business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance during significant projects in designing, coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining programs.
  • Translate and interpret functional requirements into test cases.
  • Maintain the test environment and install new software code as necessary to support applications.
  • Develop and use automated tests.
  • Perform regression testing, covering the full suite of Operational Test Scenarios for builds and/or images to be delivered to the customer.
  • Develop detailed test plans, test data, and define test acceptance criteria.
  • Prepare test reports summarizing test results including anomalies, system errors, and configuration changes.
  • Support the software configuration management process and understand software components and their interface requirements.
  • Verify specific actions or functions of code and demonstrate successfully to the customer.
  • Assist the software development team in the implementation of automated regression testing.
  • Support Customer Demonstration, data preparation, and UAT activities.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree with a minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience or 6+ years of relevant experience with a Master's Degree; OR 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to maintain and obtain a CBP Background Investigation prior to start.
  • Test data management and testing automation experience.
  • Technical expertise including knowledge of Java and database programming languages.
  • Experience with DevOps, continuous integration tools, and source control tools.
  • Experience with agile development and testing methodologies.
  • Ability to work on a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in test automation tools like Selenium, SoapUI, scripting, performance, load, and scanning capabilities.
  • Active CBP BI and experience with CBP.
  • Knowledge of Junit.
  • Experience on AWS, CI/CD, SecDevOps.
  • Experience with Splunk and setting up Splunk dashboards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CBP systems.
  • Familiarity with Splunk Processing Language (SPL).
