About the position

The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) position is a contract role focused on developing and executing automation test scripts to enhance client-specific software solutions. The role involves collaboration with the product team to ensure the integration of enhancements into the application, contributing to a high-stakes project that demands innovation and technical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute automated test scripts in an agile environment.
• Troubleshoot existing critical issues and implement long-term solutions.
• Collaborate with the ERP product team to incorporate enhancements into the product.
• Analyze, document, and articulate business requirements for software testing.
• Design and execute test cases for financial software transactions.
• Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks and tools for the Momentum ERP.
• Extract data requirements through discussions and independent analysis.
• Build and maintain automation frameworks using Java.
• Develop test plans and debug applications in production mode.
• Document steps in specification development, coding, testing, and user acceptance.
• Support applications in production by tracking and troubleshooting problems.
• Lead cross-functional teams to ensure application enhancements meet business results.
• Facilitate customer and end-user testing through iterative development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar field.
• 1+ years of experience with Java.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Continuous Development, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, and Continuous Deployment using DevOps tools like Jenkins.
• Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and interdisciplinary teams.
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a timely manner.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with SQL (1 year preferred).
• Experience with Selenium (1 year preferred).
• Experience with test automation (1 year preferred).
• Ability to commute or relocate to East Pittsburgh, PA.
