About the position

Apex Systems is seeking an Automation Tester for a contract-to-hire position with one of our top Department of Defense clients in Charleston, SC. The role involves working in a hybrid environment, requiring onsite presence three days a week and remote work for two days. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automated testing and experience with various testing tools, particularly in cloud-based environments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct automated testing for software applications.
• Collaborate with a technically diverse team to ensure quality assurance.
• Perform application Test and Evaluation, focusing on unit testing and integration testing.
• Document testing results and failures accurately.
• Maintain and obtain a SECRET level clearance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in the Software Development Lifecycle process focusing on test engineering or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree.
• 1-3 years of experience in conducting system tests according to specific written test scripts.
• Experience with BDD, Cucumber, Selenium, and Java.
• Automated testing experience with industry-accepted test tools, preferably cloud-based.
• Knowledge of software applications, operating systems, frameworks, and integrated data environments.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using JIRA and the Atlassian Tool Suite.
