About the position

Apex Systems is seeking an Automation Tester for a contract-to-hire position with one of our top Department of Defense clients in Charleston, SC. This role involves working in a hybrid environment, requiring onsite presence three days a week and remote work for two days. The ideal candidate will have experience in automated testing and be able to collaborate with a technically diverse team to ensure the quality and functionality of software applications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct automated testing using industry-accepted test tools, with a preference for cloud-based tools.
• Collaborate with a technically diverse team to ensure effective testing processes.
• Perform application Test and Evaluation, focusing on unit testing and integration testing.
• Document testing results and failures accurately and comprehensively.
• Maintain and obtain a SECRET level clearance as required.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in conducting system tests according to specific written test scripts.
• Automated Testing Experience with tools like BDD, Cucumber, Selenium, and Java.
• 5 years of work experience in the Software Development Lifecycle process focusing on test engineering or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
• Knowledge of software applications, operating systems, frameworks, and integrated data environments.
• Ability to document results and failures effectively.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET level clearance.

• Experience using JIRA and the Atlassian Tool Suite.
