About the position

The Automation Tester role at TEKsystems involves collaborating with product owners and application teams to develop and execute automated test scenarios aimed at early detection of software issues and enhancing quality. The position focuses on automating new functionalities before release and maintaining testing routines post-release, while supporting Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment practices.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, maintain, and execute versioned automated test scenarios and associated data.
  • Automate new functionality pre-release and maintain testing routines post-release.
  • Support end-to-end Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment practices.
  • Develop smoke, functional, and regression testing scripts for UI, API services, and back-end application layers.
  • Manage automation software as code using tools like Maven, GIT/Bitbucket, and Jenkins.
  • Create and maintain automated test scripts using Behavior Driven Development approach (Cucumber, Gherkin).
  • Conduct web services testing with various payloads like XML and JSON.
  • Define and develop Load and Performance tests using tools like JMeter.
  • Provide guidance and knowledge sharing with junior-level resources.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years of hands-on experience in Test Automation projects as an automation developer.
  • Experience in implementing test automation in an Agile SCRUM development environment.
  • Proficient in all phases of QA activities including script analysis, requirement analysis, test scripting design, execution, and defect reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with Core Java and Java-related projects.
  • Proficient in SQL and experienced with JIRA and HP ALM to support SDLC processes.
  • Experience with multiple scripting languages such as JavaScript, Groovy, Python, Perl, Linux, and PowerShell.
  • Experience with automation frameworks like JUnit, TestNG, Selenium, and UFT.
