This position for an Automations Controls Engineer is with a rapidly growing, privately-owned company located in Roachdale, Indiana. Collaboration with manufacturing, vendors, and engineering teams is essential to ensure that all documentation meets the required specifications. Additionally, the engineer will work closely with the sales team and customers to address design and application needs, and will also take on project management responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong educational background in engineering or a related field, along with practical experience that equips them to perform the essential duties of the job effectively. Knowledge of PLC programming and electrical circuits is crucial, as well as strong mathematical skills, particularly in geometry and trigonometry. Responsibilities

  • Create drawings, checking material dimensions and relationship to other parts and to the entire structure or project on the drawing
  • Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards
  • Verify dimensional accuracy of structural layouts and installations
  • Work with manufacturing, vendors, and engineering to ensure documentation meets specifications
  • Collaborate with the sales team and customers on design and applications
  • Construct drawings from concepts or sketches
  • Review and critique proposed engineering standards, policies, or details
  • Act as project manager

Requirements

  • Equivalent to a two or four year degree preferred with major course work in an engineering curriculum or a related area of study
  • Knowledge of PLC programming
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits
  • Strong math skills including geometry and trigonometry
  • Excellent computer knowledge and skills with drafting programs
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail oriented with a willingness to accept challenges and strive for continual improvement
  • Safety minded and practice shop safety
  • Self-motivated to work independently
