About the position
The City of Jacksonville is seeking three Automobile and Light Truck Technician I to perform skilled service maintenance work on light vehicles. This role involves inspecting and conducting preventive maintenance, requiring knowledge of maintenance techniques and procedures. Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance such as changing oils and filters, checking and replacing lights, and inspecting belts and hoses.
- Diagnose field issues to determine necessary repairs.
- Operate vehicles for service and determine needed parts through inspections and manuals.
- Inspect and change pre-mounted tires and rims.
- Write service requests and maintain job records.
Requirements
- One year of education and/or experience in performing preventive maintenance on light or heavy vehicles.
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Valid driver's license required prior to appointment.
Nice-to-haves
- One year of experience in servicing light vehicles is preferred.
