About the position

The Automotive and Embedded Hardware Application Engineer at NVIDIA is responsible for supporting customers with NVIDIA DRIVE and Jetson technologies throughout the entire product lifecycle, from pre-sales to manufacturing and production. This role involves technical support, customer training, and collaboration with global teams to develop innovative technologies. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple customer issues simultaneously while contributing to team priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Working with customers to develop groundbreaking new technologies through proof of concepts to productization.
  • Leading technical activities and customer support with worldwide teams.
  • Training customers on new NVIDIA technologies through hands-on workshops.
  • Leading customer designs with NVIDIA advanced Automotive and AI technologies.
  • Assessing the technical details of customer projects actively.
  • Reviewing schematic and PCB layout, and supporting customer design board bring-up.
  • Diagnosing problems with customer designs and solving technical issues.
  • Developing technical support materials including customer-specific documentation.

Requirements

  • BS+ or equivalent experience in EE/CE/CS engineering field, along with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of processor/SoC interfaces (e.g. USB, SPI, UART, I2C, I2S, PCIe, CSI, HDMI/DisplayPort) and memory subsystem design at both electrical and protocol levels.
  • Knowledge of power supplies (e.g. PMIC, DC/DC, LDO).
  • Methodical hardware debugging techniques and proficiency with modern oscilloscopes.
  • Ability to read and navigate through hardware design collateral such as schematics, layout, technical specifications, and 3D CAD files.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication.
  • Strong organizational skills with a logical approach to problem solving, time management, and task prioritization.
  • Self-motivated with a can-do attitude, capable of working with multi-functional teams with minimum supervision.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Automotive and/or Embedded systems.
  • System level debugging skills including ASIC, digital/analog circuits, power, low-level software/firmware, thermal, EMC, reliability, etc.
  • Experience with PCB design - schematic/layout creation, PCB fabrication flow, board bring-up, and technical debug.
  • Experience with low power design and power system optimization.
