About the position

AWS is seeking a dynamic Automotive & Manufacturing Business Development (BD) leader who will be instrumental in driving market development for the Autonomous Driving/ADAS workload area. This role will leverage the extensive capabilities of the AWS cloud computing platform to tap into transformational opportunities with customers and partners in the automotive and manufacturing sectors. The successful candidate will work closely with industry leadership, workload, and service teams to shape and support new solution area strategies, business models, and partnerships aimed at enabling recurring revenue growth, scaling operations, and ensuring customer success. In this position, the BD leader will monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer needs to identify and develop business opportunities. They will be responsible for creating and executing sales strategies, processes, and best practices across the business area and the company. The role requires inspiring action through collaboration with sales and cross-functional, customer-facing account teams. Operationally, the BD leader will operationalize strategic priorities and initiatives for AV/ADAS to meet business metrics and goals, collaborating with account teams and engaging with customers throughout the sales process. The BD leader will establish and nurture relationships with customers and partners to generate new business opportunities. They will identify and contact decision-makers, help qualify and prioritize business opportunities, and lead customer-facing pursuits. As an industry and domain thought leader, the BD leader will represent AWS at various events, participating as a speaker or panelist. Additionally, they will assist in developing and positioning AWS services and industry offerings, supporting workshops with line-of-business leaders, stakeholders, and executives. The AWS Industries team is dedicated to aiding industry customers in their digital transformation journeys, focusing on business outcomes and industry-specific use cases to transform businesses and entire industries.

Responsibilities

  • Work with industry leadership, workload, and service teams to shape and support new solution area strategies, business models, and partnerships.
  • Monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer needs to develop business opportunities and identify potential projects.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies, processes, and best practices across the business area and company.
  • Inspire action with and through others across the sales and cross-functional, customer-facing account teams.
  • Operationalize strategic priorities and initiatives for AV/ADAS to achieve business metrics and goals.
  • Collaborate with account teams and work with customers in the sales process.
  • Establish customer and partner relationships to generate new business opportunities.
  • Identify/contact decision-makers, help qualify, and prioritize business opportunities, and lead/facilitate customer-facing pursuits.
  • Act as industry and domain thought-leader both within AWS, Amazon, and externally; participating in first and third-party events as a speaker or panel participant.
  • Help develop and position AWS services and/or industry offerings; support workshops with line-of-business leaders, stakeholders, and executives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of successful experience in automotive and manufacturing industry in fields relating to autonomous driving and advance driver assistance systems (ADAS) areas with a focus on technology, business development, product and partner management, solution development, or venture investing experience in a corporate environment.
  • 5+ years in the actual development of solutions for autonomous driving and advance driver assistance systems (ADAS).
  • 5+ years of commercial business experience, identifying, developing, and executing successful partnerships e.g. complex technical/marketing deals, automotive technology-related transactions, and/or strategic technology relationships.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or proven technical acumen.
