About the position

The Automotive Assistant Sales Manager / Closer at Glendora Dodge Chrysler Jeep is responsible for leading the new and used car sales teams, ensuring sales goals are met, and providing exceptional customer service throughout the vehicle purchasing process. This role involves closing deals, training junior sales staff, and maintaining compliance with dealership policies.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing both the new and used car sales teams by providing guidance, training, and support to ensure sales goals are met or exceeded.
  • Act as a closer for vehicle sales, taking over at critical points in the sales process to help move the deal forward and finalize the sale.
  • Build rapport with customers, understand their needs, and guide them through the vehicle selection process to ensure a positive buying experience.
  • Present and explain available warranty options to customers, ensuring they understand the benefits and coverage details.
  • Train and mentor junior salespeople on best practices, product knowledge, customer service, and closing techniques.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of both new and used vehicle inventory, including key features, pricing, and promotions.
  • Ensure all sales processes comply with dealership policies and legal requirements, including the accurate completion of paperwork and contracts.
  • Maintain post-sale relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction, address any concerns, and encourage repeat business.
  • Work closely with the sales team, service department, and finance team to ensure all customer needs are met throughout the sales process.
  • Stay informed about vehicle features, options, and technology to provide customers with accurate information during their decision-making process.
  • Promote additional products such as protection packages, financing options, or service plans to enhance the customer's purchase experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of automotive sales experience, with at least 2 years in a closing or leadership role.
  • Strong ability to engage with customers, listen to their needs, and provide tailored solutions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, with experience in handling objections and closing deals.
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive features, pricing, warranty options, and available accessories.
  • Ability to work well with others and provide guidance and support to junior sales staff.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Comfortable using dealership management systems (DMS), CRM tools, and basic office software.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
