About the position

The Automotive Claims Specialist II at Cox Automotive plays a crucial role in resolving customer concerns related to vehicle purchases. The specialist will work closely with various departments and external partners to facilitate vehicle inspections and manage complex claims effectively.

Responsibilities

• Review customer claims to verify compliance with Manheim's National Arbitration policies and account-specific guidelines.
• Investigate complex cases requiring less prescriptive decision-making and infrequent senior staff involvement.
• Interface with all relevant departments during the fact-finding and investigative phases of claims.
• Utilize appropriate resources to investigate and facilitate inspections, documentation, and communication for case resolution.
• Evaluate claims by obtaining, comparing, and validating various forms of information.
• Prepare and facilitate communication for resolution via telephone, email, and in-person discussions.
• Mediate disputes and negotiate repair and pricing of disputed vehicles to reach mutually acceptable solutions.
• Monitor and maintain accurate files for each arbitration case, ensuring all documentation is correct.
• Engage with supervisors to determine if escalation of cases is necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3 years of experience in claims management, claims investigation, or problem and conflict resolution, or equivalent education and experience.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to adapt in a fluid and changing environment.

Nice-to-haves

• 3+ years of automotive, mechanical, and/or body shop experience.
