About the position

The Automotive Equipment Technician at Snap-on Equipment is responsible for completing service calls within a designated territory, focusing on the installation, repair, and maintenance of various automotive equipment. This role emphasizes customer satisfaction, problem-solving, and collaboration with the sales force to manage equipment needs and service contracts effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Follow Snap-on's safety priorities and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Expand the use of Rapid Continuous Improvement in daily activities to enhance organizational capacity.
  • Repair, maintain, and install equipment in the assigned territory.
  • Adhere to established standards for repair protocols, response times, and customer communications.
  • Assist Associate FST and FST employees with complex customer problems.
  • Ensure call completion and closure for all customers in the assigned area.
  • Manage customer equipment needs during and after warranty periods.
  • Resolve customer problems and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Sell contracts, updates/upgrades, and parts in the assigned territory.
  • Conduct pre-warranty or contract termination customer calls.
  • Make cold calls to pursue the sale of service contracts.
  • Schedule regular site visits with customers for timely equipment service.
  • Assist with the collection of outstanding receivables.
  • Perform administrative duties such as obtaining onsite signatures, inventory management, and fleet management.
  • Collaborate with Snap-on Equipment Sales Force.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in a technical field, military training, or equivalent with 1-5 years of experience.
  • Basic knowledge of pneumatics and strong mechanical skills.
  • Computer literacy on Microsoft Office products and knowledge of PC hardware repair.
  • Basic knowledge of undercar automotive operations.
  • Knowledge of all products serviced by Snap-on Inc. and internal procedures.
  • Ability to lift 45 lbs and work in an environment requiring frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, and sitting while driving.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with customers.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to work from home as a self-starter.
