About the position
Reliable Chevrolet Springfield is seeking an experienced diesel mechanic to join our automotive service team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel vehicles, requiring a strong background in diesel engine repair and technical expertise.
Responsibilities
- Conducting diagnostic tests on diesel vehicles to identify issues and determine necessary repairs
- Performing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tire rotations
- Repairing or replacing faulty components, such as spark plugs, fuel injectors, and alternators
- Conducting engine overhauls and major repairs on diesel engines
- Inspecting brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and other parts to ensure proper functioning
- Keeping accurate records of services performed and parts used
Requirements
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, with a focus on automotive repairs
- Solid understanding of diesel engine functionality and repair techniques
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and software to identify vehicle issues
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair
- Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
