About the position

The Automotive Experienced Sales Consultant is responsible for selling automobiles by understanding and demonstrating their features, capabilities, and characteristics. This role involves developing and qualifying buyers, closing sales, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and service. The position is part of a growing business that values family, community involvement, and environmental protection.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers on the sales floor and determine the make, type, and quality of vehicle desired.
  • Explain features and demonstrate operation of vehicles in the showroom or on the road.
  • Suggest optional equipment for customers to purchase.
  • Research availability of models and optional equipment.
  • Consult with the Sales Manager when necessary, ensuring customers do not leave without consultation.
  • Work with the Sales Manager to compute and quote sales prices, including tax, trade-in allowance, license fee, and financing requirements.
  • Prepare all related paperwork and applications, such as sales slips and credit applications.
  • Deliver new vehicles to customers, ensuring they understand the vehicle's features, warranty, and paperwork.
  • Maintain a prospect development system.
  • Stay knowledgeable of new products, features, and accessories.
  • Attend sales meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Meet or exceed written forecast and projected sales numbers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) required.
  • Sales experience required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
