About the position

The Automotive General Sales Manager is responsible for leading and managing the sales team at Volume Cars Auto Group in Countryside, IL. This role focuses on strategizing to meet sales targets, maximizing profitability, ensuring exceptional customer service, and maintaining high employee performance and satisfaction. The General Sales Manager will also play a key role in building a positive dealership culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and motivate the sales team to achieve sales goals and objectives.
• Meet with sales managers (new and used) to establish annual and monthly objectives for unit sales, gross profits, expenses, and operating profit.
• Enforce dealership policies, procedures, and sales systems.
• Work with dealer and general management to determine appropriate days' supply for new and used vehicles.
• Establish standards for displaying and merchandising vehicles.
• Study local market conditions, demographics, and past sales history to make informed recommendations.
• Make recommendations to the general manager regarding advertising plans, sales promotions, staffing needs, lease promotions, and compensation plans.
• Conduct major sales promotions and advertising as needed.
• Approve all sales incentives in writing before submitting them to the office.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• 1 year of sales management experience
• Valid Driver's License
• Experience in customer relationship management
• Strong relationship management skills
• Proficient in phone etiquette
• Knowledge of marketing strategies
