About the position

The Automotive Internet Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the Internet Sales department at a family-owned dealership, ensuring maximum profit potential from online sales. This role involves managing daily operations, training staff, and maintaining customer satisfaction through effective communication and sales strategies. The position requires a strong background in automotive sales and internet sales management, with a focus on achieving sales targets and enhancing the dealership's online presence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day Internet Sales department operations including finance, used car, new car, inventory, and detail departments.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and monitor the performance of Internet Sales Department salespersons.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly dealership forecasts projecting internet unit sales, gross profits, expenses, and operating profits.
  • Establish monthly objectives for unit sales, gross profits, expenses, and operating profit with Internet Salespersons.
  • Ensure Internet Salespersons understand dealership policies, procedures, and sales systems.
  • Work with inventory manager and general manager to determine appropriate days' supply for new and used vehicles.
  • Ensure standards for displaying, merchandising, and maintaining vehicles on the website are followed.
  • Examine the dealer website's integrity and communicate with the provider and dealer management.
  • Monitor and analyze dealer CXI data to identify improvements and train employees accordingly.
  • Manage dealer reputation on a daily basis and address customer complaints to ensure satisfaction.
  • Create processes for ongoing sales training and review deals for compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with Internet customers and prospects via their preferred method of communication.
  • Coordinate Internet promotions with other dealership sales promotions and advertising.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related Internet sales management experience and/or training.
  • Minimum of 2 years of working experience in automotive sales.
  • Minimum of 2 years of working experience with Automotive Internet Sales with New and/or Used Cars.
  • Working knowledge of a Dealer Management System (DMS).
  • Must have a current State Sales License.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment testing including background checks, MVR, drug test, and valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual (Preferred but not necessary).
  • Previous franchise working experience (Preferred).
  • Working knowledge of Reynolds and Reynolds system (Preferred).
