About the position

The Automotive Key Account Manager at Invio Automation is responsible for managing and nurturing relationships with key clients, particularly within the automotive sector, including General Motors and Toyota. This role involves identifying and executing large tooling and automation projects, ensuring high-quality delivery, and contributing to the overall growth of the company's automation solutions. The position requires a blend of sales expertise, technical knowledge, and strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate and maintain relationships with Fortune 500 customers to identify and execute large tooling and automation projects.
  • Lead strategic supplier relationships with General Motors and Toyota, converting opportunities to sales.
  • Clarify project scopes and assist customers in developing their business cases.
  • Serve as the 'voice of the customer' within Invio to ensure quality delivery and project timelines.
  • Promote Invio Automation as the preferred partner for ergonomic tooling and explore new sales avenues.
  • Grow the variety of solutions sold to accounts, including AGVs, vision systems, and robot cells.
  • Establish regular face-to-face interactions at major production centers and consider upcoming vehicle launches.
  • Collaborate with in-house resources to create cost-optimal customer proposals.
  • Drive marketing efforts and contribute to the development of compelling presentations and digital content.
  • Work with the services group to ensure long-term client success by understanding their service needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, particularly with General Motors.
  • Sales experience with Toyota is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Business, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn ERP and Salesforce systems quickly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
  • Willingness to travel within North America, up to 50% of the time.
