About the position

The Automotive Lube Technician at Grease Monkey is responsible for performing full-service oil changes and inspecting the underside of vehicles. This entry-level position emphasizes safety, efficiency, and attention to detail, ensuring that all services are performed accurately and to the highest standards. The role includes working with various automotive fluids and performing visual inspections of vehicle components.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and wear safety gear while keeping the work area clean and organized.
• Protect the pit opening with a bay net when not occupied by a vehicle.
• Perform visual inspections of the vehicle undercarriage and document any unusual conditions.
• Obtain the correct oil filter and drain the oil.
• Inspect the oil drain plug and gasket, replacing them as necessary.
• Replace the bottom-side oil filter when applicable.
• Check and fill gear boxes as needed.
• Perform additional services such as fuel filters, transmissions, and differentials when applicable.
• Assist with performing pressure and leak checks.
• Lubricate the chassis when applicable.
• Install a tamper seal on all plugs and assist with final safety and quality checks.
• Participate in general center maintenance and cleaning duties, including mopping and washing windows.

• Ability and license to operate motor vehicles
• Ability to properly use mechanical hand tools
• Attention to detail
• Minimum 3 months actual experience or supervised training as a lube technician required
