About the position
The Automotive Parts Counterperson is responsible for overseeing the parts sales process, ensuring customer inquiries are addressed, parts are located, and invoicing is completed. This role involves communication with customers regarding the status of parts orders and serving as a backup for other staff as needed. The position requires adherence to safety policies and regulations while providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the parts sales process from customer inquiry to invoicing.
- Work with the parts manager to locate parts not in stock.
- Complete special order part requests for customers.
- Communicate with customers on the status of ordered parts and notify them upon delivery.
- Serve as backup to parts counterperson or stocking clerk as necessary.
- Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations applicable to the industry.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience with auto parts sales preferred.
- People-focused and obsessed with providing great customer service.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Professional appearance and strong work ethic.
- Proficient with computer skills is preferred.
- Valid and current Driver's License with the ability to maintain a good driving record.
