About the position

The Automotive Parts Manager at Spitzer Hyundai of Cleveland is responsible for running an efficient and profitable service department. This role involves effective staffing, customer retention, cost control, and maintaining service records. The manager ensures that the daily inventory of technician's time is sold to service customers while fostering a high level of service and teamwork within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Forecasts goals and objectives for the department and strives to meet them
  • Hires, trains, motivates, counsels, and monitors performance of all parts staff
  • Works with the Service Manager to ensure a timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs
  • Prepares and administers an annual operating budget for the Parts Department
  • Attends managers' meetings
  • Directs and schedules the activities of all Parts Department employees
  • Conducts meetings with Parts Department employees to discuss activities and problems of mutual interest and to develop strategies for a more efficient operation
  • Monitors Parts Department employees' payroll records
  • Strives for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departments
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect the parts department
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business
  • Establishes and enforces a pricing policy that balances volume, customer loyalty, and the cost of doing business
  • Monitors and adjusts inventory to minimize obsolescence
  • Handles customer complaints immediately and according to Spitzer's guidelines
  • Maintains a safe work environment
  • Maintains a professional appearance
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • At least 1-2 years of parts experience required
  • Successful track record in a similar role
  • Team-oriented mindset
  • Successfully completed MVR, background check, and pre-employment drug screen
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CDK (DMS) for at least 1 year
