About the position

The Automotive Parts Manager at Zeigler GMC Hyundai of Holland is responsible for overseeing the parts department, ensuring efficient operations, and providing excellent service to both internal and external customers. The role requires strong leadership skills, a focus on inventory management, and the ability to meet departmental goals while fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Forecast goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them.
  • Train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all Parts Department staff.
  • Maintain a balanced inventory consistent with the requirements of the service department, wholesale accounts, and the do-it-yourself public.
  • Establish individual parts inventory levels and balance them for maximum turnover.
  • Ensure that parts inventory turns and monitor to minimize obsolescence.
  • Ensure all parts are properly tagged for full credit recovery from the factory.
  • Provide high-quality service to both outside and internal dealership customers.
  • Work with the service manager to ensure timely turnaround of parts needed for internal jobs.
  • Analyze departmental operations and storage layout for maximum effectiveness.
  • Provide technical assistance to parts department employees.
  • Coordinate a prompt, efficient, and timely flow of paperwork.
  • Ensure accuracy of Purchase Orders and Invoices from outside companies.
  • Direct shipping and receiving efforts to ensure timely processing.
  • Monitor daily reports and sales productivity.
  • Develop, enforce, and monitor guidelines for customer interactions to ensure satisfaction.
  • Handle customer complaints immediately according to dealership guidelines.
  • Ensure all dealership purchases are properly accounted for before payment is made.
  • Place orders by phone and through websites for outside purchases.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local regulations affecting parts sales.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience as a Parts Manager or 3 years as a lead Counter Associate.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • Hyundai Certification is preferred.
  • Mechanical knowledge is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • GMC or Hyundai Parts Experience is preferred.
