About the position

Race Winning Brands (RWB) is a leading manufacturer of racing and high-performance parts for the automotive and powersports markets. This position is responsible for managing the development of automotive engine internal components and collaborating with other product managers to support product development. The role involves maintaining the brand's product portfolio, which includes overseeing the new product pipeline and existing products. Additionally, the position requires working closely with the Sales team to create and meet the overall Business Plan for the brand. The scope of this role includes oversight of raw material requirements, costing, product prototyping, and all related details. This position is highly visible within the organization and serves as a strategic partner in executing the company's vision. The essential duties and responsibilities include creating product strategy documents that outline business cases, high-level use cases, technical requirements, revenue, and ROI. Conducting market research to develop products that meet customer needs and assessing competitor offerings to identify differentiation opportunities is crucial. The role also involves evaluating resource capacity and anticipating future needs to drive product innovation, as well as executing product improvement and productivity initiatives in close collaboration with Engineering. A culture that fosters an entrepreneurial and disruptive approach to innovation is essential. The position also entails driving the execution of all product lifecycle processes from conception through release and obsolescence, including product research, market research, competitive analysis, planning, positioning, roadmap, development requirements, and product launch. The individual will review and adjust product trends and demand to generate appropriate inventory levels and production schedules to maintain product availability. Creating annual and new product release forecasts is also part of the responsibilities. Furthermore, the role requires creating and maintaining all product data, including ERP data points, product features/attributes, product fitment, and general customer-facing data, which necessitates extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Coordinating new product releases with R&D, Sales, Marketing, and Operations is critical, as is driving continuous improvement of the new product development process using agile/scrum methodology. The individual will work closely with the Supply Chain and Quality Teams to ensure timely delivery of new products that meet specifications. Training for internal teams and external customers (B2B) is also a key responsibility, along with confirming that all essential customer-facing data is available for comprehensive product onboarding. Collecting customer feedback through surveys and outreach to make recommendations for product performance and customer experience improvements is another important aspect of the role. The individual will define product marketing communication objectives and provide management with analysis and reports as needed. Frequent travel is required, with the position based at the Lakewood, NJ site, necessitating travel to various sites every other month.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of product management experience with a focus on internal combustion engine valvetrain.
  • Ability to fully utilize MS Office programs such as Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Previous software and web development experience.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Technical knowledge of motorcycle products and accessories.

Nice-to-haves
