The Automotive Sales Desk Manager / Finance Manager is a key role within a family-owned automotive group, responsible for managing desk operations, closing deals, and ensuring the funding of transactions. This position requires a seasoned professional with expertise in both prime and subprime financing, capable of navigating bank guidelines and fostering relationships with financial institutions. The role offers significant income potential and opportunities for career advancement, including the possibility of becoming a Managing Partner within five years.

Responsibilities

• Manage desk operations and close sales deals effectively.
• Print paperwork and ensure all transactions are funded.
• Work with customers of varying credit scores to secure financing.
• Utilize tools like DealerTrack and Dealersocket for transaction management.
• Conduct customer interviews to assist in vehicle selection and financing options.
• Rework declined deals to approvals while maintaining control of the process.
• Engage with customers to understand and overcome objections during the sales process.
• Collaborate with F&I and sales teams to limit funding times for secondary deals.
• Identify and secure new sources of subprime lending as needed.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in automotive F&I and desk management.
• Strong understanding of bank guidelines for both secondary finance and prime.
• Proficiency in using DealerTrack or Route One software.
• Ability to read and interpret credit bureaus and financial documents.
• Knowledge of subprime transactions and related calculations (PTI, DTI, LTV).
• Existing relationships with automotive secondary financial institutions.
• Strong communication skills and customer focus.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with General Motors vehicles.
• Previous management experience in an automotive dealership.
