About the position

As an Automotive Service Technician at Nalley Hyundai, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service to our customers while working in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will be responsible for understanding and completing routine repairs necessary for the repair of customer vehicles, which includes performing general repairs and diagnostics with some assistance. Your work will involve light engine work, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and steering & suspension systems. You will be expected to maintain a high level of proficiency and customer satisfaction, as specified by Asbury standards. In this role, you will utilize a multi-point inspection form for each vehicle, document all work performed, and communicate effectively with service advisors regarding additional work needed or any delays in repairs. You will also conduct road tests to determine the necessary work and confirm successful completion of repairs. Continuous learning is a key aspect of this position, as you will participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs to expand your knowledge of new technologies and maintain your certifications. Responsibilities

  • Perform routine repairs and diagnostics on customer vehicles with some assistance.
  • Conduct light engine work, transmission repairs, clutch replacements, and electrical system diagnostics.
  • Utilize multi-point inspection forms for each vehicle and document all work performed.
  • Communicate with service advisors regarding additional work needed or delays in repairs.
  • Maintain technician proficiency as specified by Asbury standards.
  • Conduct road tests to determine necessary work and confirm successful completion of repairs.
  • Perform preventive and routine maintenance services on vehicles.
  • Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs to expand knowledge of new technology.
  • Maintain Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) at or above specified goals.
  • Complete warranty repair orders and file warranty claims accurately.
  • Report any safety or integrity concerns to management.
  • Ensure customer vehicles are returned clean and in good condition.
  • Complete required training for compliance with regulations such as hazardous waste disposal and OSHA standards.

Requirements

  • ASE certifications heavily preferred.
  • Manufacturer certifications heavily preferred.
  • Previous automotive technician experience required.
  • Basic tools required for the job.
  • Strong technical and mechanical skills.
  • Ability to work as a team player and handle complex tasks repetitively.
  • Minimum age of eighteen years.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening (background & drug test).
