About the position

The Automotive Service Technician at Wallace Automotive is responsible for diagnosing and repairing vehicle issues to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role involves hands-on work with various automotive systems and components, requiring both technical skills and customer interaction to provide high-quality service.

Responsibilities

  • Test drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic equipment.
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications.
  • Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes.
  • Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors.
  • Confer with customers to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems and discuss work to be performed and future repair requirements.
  • Examine vehicles to determine the extent of damage or malfunctions.
  • Tear down, repair, and rebuild faulty assemblies, such as power systems, steering systems, and linkages.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an automotive service technician or similar role.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with customers and team members.

Nice-to-haves

  • ASE certification or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience with hybrid or electric vehicles is a plus.
