About the position

The Automotive Service Writer/Service Advisor plays a crucial role in the dealership by acting as a liaison between customers and the service department. This position focuses on building relationships with customers, understanding their service needs, and ensuring that repairs are scheduled and communicated effectively. The Service Writer is responsible for tracking repairs, developing cost estimates, and scheduling technicians to meet customer demands.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with customers and the sales team.
• Track repairs and their causes.
• Schedule technicians and sublets as needed.
• Process warranties and develop cost estimates.
• Log parts needed for repairs and allocate time for each job.
• Communicate repair needs and updates to customers and the service team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of customer service experience preferred.
• Product knowledge in automotive services is required.
• Experience with DealerTrack or similar programs is necessary.
• Valid Driver's License is required.
