About the position

Babcox Media Inc. (www.babcox.com), an Akron, Ohio-based B2B multimedia company with a concentration in the automotive aftermarket, powersports, performance, collision, commercial fleet, dealership, engine building, and tire industries, is seeking an Automotive Technical Content Creator. This is a full-time position. The Automotive Technical Content Creator will play a critical role in writing, producing, editing, and publishing online content across our leading brands. This role is not just about writing; it's about bringing automotive service to life through engaging video content that resonates with our audience and drives digital engagement. This person would develop engaging content for the automotive aftermarket in our 10,000-sq. ft. Garage Studio, as well as in the field working with shop owners and technicians that keep the automotive market moving. Ideally, the candidate would have 1 to 3 years of experience working in an automotive service shop, strong writing and communication skills, and be looking to leverage his or her experience in a new career field. Responsibilities

  • Write, produce, edit, and publish online content across various brands.
  • Develop engaging content for the automotive aftermarket in the Garage Studio and in the field.
  • Create video content that resonates with the audience and drives digital engagement.
  • Work with shop owners and technicians to gather insights and content.
  • Research technical topics using OE service information and aftermarket resources.
  • Demonstrate products and conduct interviews in front of the camera.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience working in an automotive service shop.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Understanding of writing for a specific audience with clear and concise direction.
  • ASE-Certified Automotive Technician or equivalent automotive repair work experience.
  • Knowledge of the latest automotive technology (ADAS, TPMS, EV Service, etc.).
  • Experience in content editing and basic graphic design.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and work ethic.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and MS Teams.

  • Experience being in front of a camera for interviews and product demonstrations.
  • Creative and innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to prioritize work.
