About the position
The Automotive Technician position at Avis Budget Group involves performing essential repairs and maintenance on a variety of vehicle brands and models. Technicians will work with minimal oversight, handling tasks such as oil changes, tire repairs, and supporting skilled mechanics with more complex repairs. This role is ideal for individuals looking to advance their automotive repair careers in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct essential repairs on a diverse range of vehicle brands and models.
- Perform maintenance activities such as oil changes, lubrication, and tire repairs.
- Support skilled mechanics in handling intricate repair procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the mechanical shop.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License and good driving record.
- At least 2 years of auto repair experience or relevant coursework with automotive certifications.
- 1 ASE certification with the ability to acquire 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year.
- Knowledge in areas covered by ASE certification programs including Engine Repair, Drive Train/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel.
- Comfortable working in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise levels.
- Complete set of tools required for auto repair and maintenance.
- Basic computer skills including typing and data entry.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, reaching, walking, sitting, and kneeling frequently.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience preferred.
