About the position
The Automotive Technician position at Avis Budget Group involves performing essential repairs and maintenance on a variety of vehicle brands and models. Technicians will work with minimal oversight, handling tasks such as oil changes, tire repairs, and supporting skilled mechanics with more complex repairs. Responsibilities
- Conduct essential repairs on a diverse range of vehicle brands and models.
- Perform maintenance activities such as oil changes, lubrication, and tire repairs.
- Support skilled mechanics in handling intricate repair procedures.
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License and good driving record.
- At least 2 years of auto repair experience or relevant coursework with automotive certifications.
- 1 ASE certification with the ability to acquire 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year.
- Knowledgeable in areas covered by ASE certification programs including Engine Repair, Drive Train/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel.
- Comfortable working in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise levels.
- Must have a complete set of tools required for auto repair and maintenance.
- Basic computer skills including typing and data entry.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, reaching, walking, sitting, and kneeling frequently.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience preferred.
