About the position

The Auto Maintenance Tech I position at Cox Automotive involves performing repairs and maintenance on a variety of vehicles. This role is designed for individuals who have a passion for cars and are willing to engage in hands-on work. The technician will work in a supportive environment, gaining familiarity with auto maintenance concepts and practices while contributing to the overall efficiency of vehicle operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform light-duty work as an intermediate-level auto tech.
• Gain familiarity with auto maintenance concepts and practices.
• Perform auto maintenance tech duties, including oil and filter changes, fuel filter changes, transmission flushes, spark plug replacements, and vehicle inspections.
• Conduct battery testing, maintenance, and replacement, as well as testing and repairing starting and charging electrical systems.
• Perform various repairs including tires, safety inspections, and interior/exterior components.
• Diagnose and repair brake systems, steering, and suspension systems.
• Perform evacuation and recharge on the AC system.
• Perform maintenance on equipment.
• Utilize approved vendors to obtain parts.
• May upfit new vehicles with the necessary equipment.
• Comply with applicable procedures and regulations regarding recyclables, fluids, tires, and disposable trash.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license required.
• 1 or more years of related work experience.
• Ability to drive standard, automatic, and electric vehicles.

Nice-to-haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Current ASE Certifications: G1, A4, A5 status when required by leadership.
