About the position

The Automotive Technician role at Monro is a full-time or part-time position responsible for conducting vehicle diagnostics and performing routine maintenance and repairs. The technician is expected to deliver exceptional service, communicate effectively with guests about vehicle issues, and adhere to company standards and safety protocols. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining the quality of service provided by Monro.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic vehicle diagnostics to properly identify required repairs.
  • Complete Monro's Courtesy Inspection process on every guest vehicle, identifying and communicating additional needed services and repairs.
  • Assist in inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, unloading, and stocking inventory.
  • Maintain the store in excellent condition and ensure it meets Monro's cleanliness standards.
  • Perform services in accordance with Monro's safety standards, including wheel torque and oil safety procedures.
  • Test drive vehicles following Monro's Road Test policy and local traffic laws.
  • Adhere to company policies, governmental standards, and safety protocols.
  • Maintain technical knowledge through timely completion of Monro University training courses.
  • Operate and maintain all equipment safely according to guidelines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Automotive training in basic car maintenance and repair or equivalent experience.
  • ASE certification and State Inspection license preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Ability to operate customer vehicles for test drives.
  • Ownership of a basic set of tools or participation in Monro's tool purchase program.
