About the position

The Field Technical Specialist role at Kelly Services in Torrance, CA, is designed for a motivated individual to support operations in the automotive industry. This position involves providing technical assistance, conducting onsite inspections, and diagnosing vehicle issues, with a focus on delivering high-quality service and maintaining operational standards. The role requires a strong background in automotive repair and troubleshooting, particularly in micromobility and electric vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Ensure uptime of 95% or better for your assigned area/zone.
• Provide in-field technical assistance, achieving a fix rate of 95.5% of vehicles on the first visit.
• Conduct Fix on First Visit Assessments to support 3rd-party service partner performance, creating reports and feedback for internal and external teams.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for 3rd-party technicians to resolve complex issues.
• Document daily activities and provide feedback to the Lead Technician and Head of Service.
• Create Field Quality Reports as necessary.
• Participate in special projects, testing tools, providing feedback, and supporting service engineering data collection.
• Attend training for new models and technologies, performing analysis and creating reports for updated vehicles.

Requirements

• High School Diploma; ASE certification or relevant certifications preferred.
• 6+ years of experience in a technical role, with a track record in remote diagnostics and repair.
• Experience with ATV or motorcycle repairs.
• Must have repair experience with different types of vehicles.
• EV and electrical experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in creating repair procedures, SOPs, or similar technical documents.
• Knowledge of micromobility vehicles and delivery platforms preferred.
• Experience in diagnosing and repairing CAN-BUS failures and mobile vehicle repair.
• Willingness to travel for workshops, market launches, and trade shows.
