About the position

Transdev is seeking Autonomous Vehicle Operators to play a crucial role in the operation and evaluation of autonomous vehicles. This position involves working in a fast-paced environment, ensuring safety, and providing feedback on vehicle performance while interacting with the public. The role offers opportunities for career advancement in the emerging field of autonomous driving.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Transdev's high standard of safety, inside and outside of the vehicle.
• Demonstrate situational awareness and adjust to changes in the environment.
• Communicate courteously with management, engineers, and the public.
• Operate/Drive in single and/or dual driving, five days a week.
• Sit still for long periods of time and respond quickly to changing environments.
• Work individually and in small groups of 2-10 people.
• Operate a vehicle for 6-8 hours a day, 5 days a week.
• Provide rides in the autonomous vehicle to the general public.
• Monitor multiple software systems with constant focus.
• Provide concise, clear, and accurate verbal and written feedback regarding the vehicle's operations.
• Complete daily reports and document procedures and tests.
• Interact with the public in a polite and professional manner, educating them on self-driving technology when necessary.
• Operate autonomous vehicles on both defined and undefined routes under various environmental conditions.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience driving on public roads.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Proficiency with a laptop computer and GSuite apps (i.e. Gmail, Hangouts, Sheets, and Docs).
• Proficiency with using a touchscreen smartphone (Android preferred).
• Ability to type at least 40 adjusted wpm.
• Good attention to detail and ability to describe thoughts concisely.
• Ability to respond quickly to multiple scenarios and adapt to new technology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated with good judgment in fast-paced environments.
