About the position

The Auxiliary Student Videographer/Photographer at the University of Georgia is responsible for creating high-quality video and photographic content that showcases the UGA on-campus experience. This role involves filming, editing, and producing original content specifically for Auxiliary Services' social media platforms and website. The videographer/photographer will ensure that all produced content is accessible, which includes providing closed captioning, descriptions, metadata, and thumbnails for videos. The position requires collaboration with the creative team to contribute to the ideation and planning of various video projects, ensuring that the content aligns with current trends and techniques in the video and photography industry. In addition to content creation, the videographer/photographer will assist during high-level marketing shoots by organizing and preparing video equipment. This includes maintaining and organizing all video equipment and accessories to ensure they are in optimal condition for use. The role is dynamic and may involve performing other duties consistent with the purpose of the position as assigned by supervisors. This position is crucial for enhancing the visibility and engagement of Auxiliary Services through compelling visual storytelling that resonates with the UGA community and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Film, edit and produce original, appropriate, and high quality content for Auxiliary Services social media and website focused on the UGA on-campus experience.
  • Provide closed captioning, description, metadata, thumbnails, and ensure accessibility for all videos.
  • Work closely with the creative team to contribute to the ideation and planning of video projects.
  • Be knowledgeable of current video and photo industry trends and techniques.
  • Assist during high-level marketing shoots by organizing and preparing video equipment.
  • Maintain and organize video equipment and accessories.
  • Perform other duties consistent with the purpose of the position as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience in videography and photography, including filming and editing skills.
