About the position

The AV CAD Drafter position at NetPlanner Systems, Inc. involves working closely with AutoCAD and preparing construction drawings. The role requires receiving red lines from team members and project managers, making necessary adjustments, and preparing multiple versions of designs for review by engineers. The drafter will be responsible for identifying opportunities to improve quality and services and will actively participate in their implementation. A proactive approach to managing time and workload between projects and teams is essential, as is an understanding of spatial relationships to resolve potential interference issues. Effective communication is crucial, as the drafter must quickly relay issues and foreseeable problems to project managers. Utilizing all available tools and programs to manage work correctly and in a timely manner is expected. The drafter will incorporate information from surveys, project documentation, and jurisdiction codes into designs, and will also prepare correspondence to clients and contractors. The ability to handle multiple projects or tasks simultaneously without compromising the quality of work is vital. Feedback will be used to modify existing designs, and problem-solving skills will be necessary to develop alternative solutions to unforeseen engineering issues. All completed drafts must be kept in a company database for future access and reference. Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned by the senior management team as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; College or Technical School is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of industry/field experience required.
• Intermediate knowledge and skills in Excel, Word, and Adobe are required.
• Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Project, CRM, AutoCAD, Visio, and OneNote is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with construction drawing preparation.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the installation of complex cabling, security, audio visual, and communications systems.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
