About the position

The AV Lead Editor-Videographer at the PETA Foundation is a pivotal role focused on creating innovative and impactful audio-visual productions that promote animal rights. This position requires a blend of creativity, technical expertise, and leadership skills to produce high-quality video content that aligns with the organization's mission. The successful candidate will work closely with various stakeholders within the PETA Foundation and its supported organizations to conceptualize, design, and execute compelling video projects. This includes directing and conducting video, audio, and photo shoots, as well as creating motion graphics and effects that enhance the storytelling aspect of the productions. In addition to production responsibilities, the AV Lead Editor-Videographer will ensure the quality control of all video outputs, manage the archiving and uploading of raw and master files to the A/V database, and maintain the department's audio-visual equipment. The role also involves training and mentoring A/V staff, ensuring that all projects comply with legal guidelines, and performing any additional duties as assigned by the supervisor. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to the objectives of the PETA Foundation and a passion for animal rights advocacy, which will be reflected in their work.

Responsibilities

  • Create exciting, cutting-edge videos based on requests from the PETA Foundation and its supported organizations.
  • Design, direct, and conduct video, audio, and photo shoots.
  • Create effects, titles, and other motion graphics.
  • Conceptualize and develop original content for audio-visual projects.
  • Work closely with the director, manager, and other staff on creative aspects throughout production.
  • Take responsibility for the quality control of videos.
  • Archive and upload raw and master files within the A/V database and server, and assemble legal breakdowns for edits.
  • Perform maintenance and research on audio-visual equipment and supplies.
  • Assist with the training processes of A/V staff.
  • Abide by any legal guidelines regarding video production from start to completion.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive editing experience, including experience with Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Extensive experience with industrial-grade audio-visual equipment.
  • Sophisticated understanding of and appreciation for the creative process.
  • Proven effective leadership skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to deal professionally with staff members and the public.
  • Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid U.S. driver's license, a minimum of three years of driving experience, and a satisfactory driving record.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
