About the position

The AV Specialist role at NWN Carousel involves installing and troubleshooting audio-visual projects at client sites, with a focus on enhancing AV skills through industry training and mentorship. The position requires both local and overnight travel, with travel expectations up to 20%. The specialist will work closely with project leads and clients to ensure the successful integration and functionality of AV equipment for live events and meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, operate, disassemble, and troubleshoot audio-visual equipment.
  • Perform production editing, routine maintenance, and inventory tracking.
  • Coordinate with clients on placement and integration of AV equipment.
  • Respond to and resolve routine questions and technical issues.
  • Conduct high-level site surveys and communicate client needs to the design team.
  • Stage and install complex multi-room AV installations while coordinating with on-site trades and customer IT staff.
  • Train Field Specialists on new products and proper AV standards.
  • Provide regular updates to the Project Manager and work with Design Engineer to ensure compliance with the SOW.
  • Commission complex installations using appropriate tools and apps.
  • Work with programmers to install basic room control systems.
  • Commission AV equipment by debugging control systems and configuring video and audio settings.
  • Provide user and technical training on installed systems.
  • Complete and submit installation documentation, including checklists and site photos.
  • Escalate client issues to appropriate resources when necessary.
  • Maintain professionalism in all communications and interactions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 4-6 years' experience in professional Audio-Visual installations.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Experience with installation and configuration of audio and video conferencing systems.
  • Understanding of Audio-Visual network requirements.
  • Knowledge of VoIP and analog phone systems.
  • Basic IP networking expertise or education.
  • Crestron Digital Media & NVX Certified.
  • Biamp Tesira Certified.
  • Infocomm CTS-I Certified.
  • OSHA Certified.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Outstanding technical skills in Audio-Visual design, signal flow, and networking.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
