About the position

The AV Technician position at Crunchy Tech is a freelance role focused on providing audiovisual installation and support services. Contractors will be engaged for various projects, including setting up and maintaining AV equipment for events and installations, ensuring high-quality audiovisual experiences for clients.

Responsibilities

• Set up and install sound speakers, microphones, and amplifiers.
• Install electric and non-electric video projection screens and projectors.
• Set up video monitors and recording equipment.
• Run, terminate, test, and connect wires and cables.
• Operate sound and mixing boards for events such as concerts and meetings.
• Install control systems like Crestron.
• Implement digital signal processing systems such as Peavey Media Matrix and BSS Soundweb.
• Manage video distribution systems including HD over IP and HDBaseT.
• Set up and wire racks for equipment.
• Monitor sound feeds to ensure quality during events.
• Ensure equipment is installed according to designated layouts and plans.
• Test and resolve equipment issues as they arise.
• Diagnose and correct media system problems.
• Coordinate audio feeds with television images.
• Send equipment for repairs as needed.
• Switch video input sources as required.
• Clean and store audio and video equipment properly.

Requirements

• Experience in audiovisual installation and support.
• Familiarity with sound and video equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
• Knowledge of digital signal processing and control systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Certifications in AV technology or related fields.
• Experience with event production and management.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
