AV Technician

About the position

The AV Technician at E2 Optics is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining various Audio Visual (AV) and Videoconferencing (VTC) equipment and systems. This role emphasizes high-quality work and professionalism while managing multiple aspects of cable installation and AV system integration. The technician will also conduct site surveys, provide technical support, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, integrate, and test VTC and AV equipment.
• Manage cable installations including copper, pathway construction, and terminations.
• Conduct customer site surveys and provide sales engineering assistance.
• Perform specialized technical tasks in the operation and maintenance of AV equipment.
• Read and interpret AV system drawings and schematics for installation.
• Oversee all VTC system and AV installations, including scheduling and maintenance.
• Provide troubleshooting support for AV systems and equipment.
• Maintain and monitor video equipment for executive users.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years of technical AV-related field experience.
• Ability to read and interpret AV system drawings and schematics.
• Experience with cable pulling, rack building, and system testing.
• Computer literate with proficiency in MS Office.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification (may obtain upon hire).
• Familiarity with AMX, Crestron, and Extron control systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Other industry certifications (Cisco, Biamp, Extron, Crestron, AMX).
• CVE and VCA-DCV Certifications.
• Crestron certification and experience.
• 8570 IAT II baseline certification.
