About the position

Butler Tech is expanding its Aviation program and seeking an engaging instructor to join our team. Over the next 2 years we will hire additional instructors to meet the demands of this rapidly growing field. The Aviation Instructor is primarily responsible for the delivery of quality education that adheres to Ohio Department of Education curriculum standards. The Instructor employs effective teaching practices to ensure that all students are equipped for success. The ideal candidate for this role will have industry and/or education experience in the field of Aviation. Based on these credentials, Butler Tech can guide our selected candidates through obtaining teacher licensure.

Requirements

• Licensure/certification through the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) or ability to obtain proper licensure.
• Current ODE licensure in an Aviation, Transportation, or Engineering area; OR
• Bachelor's or master's degree in the content area and 2 years of relevant work experience; OR
• Bachelor's or master's degree outside the content area and 5 years of relevant work experience; OR
• Associate's Degree or 60 semester hours in subject area and 3 years of related work experience
• Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification in primary area of training are a plus
• Previous teaching experience in academic environment and/or on-line teaching preferred
• Ability to interact successfully with academic as well as business and regulatory stakeholders
• Willingness/ability to work with students, teachers and administrators as a team member
• Effective and demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, analytical, oral and written communication, and organizational skills
• State-issued identification card with photograph
• History of strong work record, including good job attendance, and acceptable criminal record
