About the position

Amentum is seeking an Aviation Logistics Manager to oversee aircraft maintenance and parts inventory/supply operations. This role involves managing logistics, ensuring timely procurement of parts, and maintaining compliance with government regulations. The manager will serve as the primary point of contact for program-related issues, exercising sound judgment in decision-making and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage personnel and processes for initiating purchase requisitions and transportation of goods.
  • Generate and submit contract deliverables and provide leadership with KPIs and necessary data for logistic support.
  • Provide cost estimates and explain variances between budgeted, estimated, and actual costs of materials for contracts.
  • Forecast and track procurements of all parts for purchase, repair, and calibration to support program health.
  • Work closely with the Business Manager to manage contract material funding and special contract funds.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT and other transportation requirements.
  • Control inventory of government assets for the entire program.
  • Prepare necessary correspondence for government review and approval.
  • Establish and maintain procedures for controlling government-furnished and contractor-acquired property.
  • Maintain stocking levels of government property to meet maintenance requirements.
  • Interface with government counterparts on procedural issues and enforce safety regulations.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in aviation maintenance.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain United States Secret Security Clearance.
  • FAA or DoD related aviation supply parts experience.
  • Experience managing supply functions such as storage, issue, inspection, and procurement of aircraft parts.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Extensive knowledge of Government Property Control/Procurement procedures.
  • Strong leadership and management skills to direct personnel.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with international logistics and procurement processes.
  • Knowledge of advanced data collection systems for aircraft maintenance.
