About the position
The Aviation Maintenance Technician at Viasat is responsible for supporting customers at various airports by performing maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and returning the Viasat Broadband System onboard customer aircraft to service. This role requires adherence to company and airline manuals, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, and demands a high level of technical knowledge in commercial aircraft systems, particularly in electrical and avionics equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of the Viasat Broadband System on customer aircraft.
- Ensure compliance with company, airline, and FAA regulations during maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with Viasat's Customer Support Center and Planning teams to coordinate maintenance tasks.
- Utilize technical knowledge to resolve complex problems and develop recommended solutions.
- Conduct preventative maintenance as required.
Requirements
- Experience with commercial aircraft systems, specifically electrical and avionics equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and testing skills in aviation maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgments in complex situations.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations and compliance standards.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience in a similar aviation maintenance role.
- Certifications related to aircraft maintenance or avionics.
- Knowledge of Viasat Broadband Systems.
