About the position

The Aviation Maintenance Technician at American Airlines is responsible for ensuring the safety and airworthiness of aircraft by performing mechanical work, conducting scheduled maintenance inspections, and certifying the quality of their own workmanship. Responsibilities

• Service aircraft, including mechanical work involved in dismantling, overhauling, repairing, and assembling parts to maintain airworthiness.
• Conduct scheduled maintenance inspections and certify the quality of own workmanship according to maintenance manuals.
• Connect/remove ground power and ground start units, and perform guideman functions.
• Perform inspections in extreme environmental conditions and ensure general safety awareness while working.
• Complete job-relevant trainings and adhere to government regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• Airframe and Power Plant License required.
• Ability to read, write, and fluently speak English.
• Willingness to work outdoors in any weather conditions and extra hours when operational needs arise.
• Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.

Nice-to-haves
