About the position

As a Powerplant Engineer at MTU Maintenance Dallas, Inc, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operations of our aviation engine repair facility. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the smooth functioning of the repair shop, adherence to safety protocols, and providing technical support for various engine types. You will also participate in technical analyses of aviation accidents and incidents, particularly in turbine engines and related systems.

Responsibilities

  • Define technical standard, execute work scopes and shop visits for customer engine fleets according to customer's requirements and based on the MTU technical standard to ensure the engine is maintained with high quality, good TAT and reasonable cost
  • Prepare work scopes for individual engines or engine fleets according to customer's requirements, OEM recommendation, MTU experience and the customer contract
  • Lead and guide Engine Workscope Team, coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth engine shop visit or OSS event
  • Provide technical support to solve arising problems during the shop visit/OSS event process and support for all troubleshooting necessary during the evolutions
  • Review and control implementation of OEM modifications and procedures into MTU system and communicate with OEM for required clarification
  • Prepare and issue Technical Orders considering engineering evaluation
  • Support Customer Account Managers regarding proposal creation and contract negotiation
  • Analyze removal reasons of customer fleet, present and conduct technical review meetings with customers, advise and clarify technical issues concerning engine fleet operation and maintenance
  • Coordinate projects to develop MTU solutions for technical issues and support all other MTU departments regarding technical issues
  • Prepare OTC/CDR requests based on engineering evaluation and communicate with OEM in terms of technical deviations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Masters degree in engineering or aviation discipline required
  • A&P License or a P License, preferred
  • Large Engine experience in a setting other than line maintenance, preferred
  • Military Experience is acceptable if the experience is from an engine shop background
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and procedures
